Santa Flies to Princeton Airport in Airplane

For thirty four years, Santa has flown to the Princeton Airport in an Airplane -- and this year was no exception.  On Christmas Eve at a little past 11AM Santa and his helping Elf arrived on schedule to distribute gifts to the eagerly awaiting crowd of children and parents.

In order to participate in this fun filled event, parents bring a wrapped present with their child's name on it to the Airport early in December.  They must also bring an un-wrapped gift for a needy child that will be distributed by the Mercer County  Board of Social Services.   After Santa Flies-in, he distributes the gifts to the children 1 by 1.  It can take quite a bit of time for Santa to hand out all of those gifts, so the earlier in December that you drop a gift off the quicker your child will receive it from Santa.

In addition to the Fly-In, there is also plenty of pre-Fly-In entertainment for the kids, including a sing along with Ms. Pat McKinley to many popular Christmas Carols like Jingle Bells and others like the Dreidel Song. Hoagie Haven is located at 242 Nassau Street in the heart of downtown Princeton. You’ll come across some reviews that describe it as a hole in the wall – which is a somewhat accurate portrayal of its facade and décor. However, if here ever was truth to don’t judge a book by its cover, Hoagie Haven would be one of those good stories hidden by a poor cover. Known for its hoagies, sometimes called subs or grinders in other parts of the country, you can expect to get a good 12 inch long sandwich for under $7 – which is easily enough to serve 2 people.
